Pass Plus
Be safer...
In the two years after passing their test, new drivers are more likely to be involved in an accident than at any other time. One driver in every five has an accident in the first year after passing their test. The DSA have responded with Pass Plus, a scheme to help inexperienced drivers gain valuable experience quickly.
Taking the Pass Plus scheme involves at least six hours training after successfully passing your test. The training will include motorway and night driving, coping with different weather conditions, and driving on rural and urban routes.
...and save money
As an incentive to be involved in Pass Plus, many insurance companies offer new drivers a substantial discount, which can be much more than the cost of the training. There is a list of insurers on this page. Some of Bernie's and my own customers have saved as much as £500. Pass Plus usually has to be completed in the first year after passing the test to qualify for any discount.
Pass... fail?
There is no test at the end. Your performance is monitored by your instructor throughout the training. If your instructor feels you need more than six hours tuition, he or she will discuss this with you. But it's unlikely - you've just passed your test, haven't you?
Where to?
Bernie and I often take our customers into London, which gives you a chance to sample the delights of the M25. Alternatively, we may head south, to the coast and the M3 and M27. The routes and the duration of lessons are not fixed, we can accomodate your individual needs. Route planning is often overlooked after a successful test, and we will encourage you to navigate on your own.
